Chisinau, January 31. /MOLDPRES/. Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Iulian Groza today participated in an international conference titled: Sustainable development of the blue economy of the Black Sea. Enhancing marine and maritime cooperation, held in Bucharest, under the patronage of the European Commission and Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign and European Integration Ministrys information and media communication services.

The event represented a platform of discussions for public administrations representatives and private sector participants of the Black Sea states, in order to exchange opinions on challenges and opportunities provided by the blue economy of the Black Sea region. The international conferences main goal was to encourage development of the inter-sector initiatives to boost the blue growth, which regards the sustainable development of the entire marine and maritime sector of the Black Sea region.

In his speech, Iulian Groza reconfirmed Moldovas commitments to the sustainable development of the Black Sea region and bolstering regional cooperation. The official reiterated the need to identify actions and priorities to increase the regions competitiveness, by creating synergies between various sectors of industry, maritime clusters, research that would lead to development of the trans-sector cooperation in various areas.
