Chisinau, January 28. /MOLDPRES/. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today met Special Representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office for Protracted Conflicts, Ambassador Radojko Bogojevi?, the governments communication and media relations department has reported.
I am happy to be here, to represent Moldova. My mission is to meet different representatives, persons, in order to prepare the first round of talks. During my mandate, I will do my utmost to keep viable the negotiations and improve the life of the citizens from the two banks, Radojko Bogojevi? said.
For his part, Iurie Leanca wished Bogojevi?, on a first visit to Moldova in this capacity, every success. I hope you will have a pleasant experience and we will be good partners during your mandate, Leanca said.
The officials discussed OSCE Chairmanships priorities in promoting the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. The sides highlighted importance to advance the five-plus-two talks, dialogue between the Chisinau and Tiraspol authorities within the working groups, as well as at other levels.
Leanca specified that Switzerland and Serbia, presently holding the OSCE Chairmanship, had the capacity and experience, at international level, to mediate conflicts. The prime minister also said the Organisation played an important role in settling the Transnistrian conflict.
Iurie Leanca confirmed the Chisinau authorities support for the OSCE Mission to fully exercise its mandate in Moldova.
The next five-plus-two round of talks will take place in Chisinau and Tiraspol on 27-28 February.
Radojko Bogojevi? was appointed Special Representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office for Protracted Conflicts and will be in charge of the five-plus-two negotiations for a two-year period.
