Chisinau, January 31. /MOLDPRES/. Parliament Speaker Igor Corman attended the official awards ceremony at the Trademark of the Year 2013 contest on 30 January, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
At the event, the parliament speaker handed Grand Prize of the contests organisation committee for the Reputatie si Incredere (Reputation and Trust) and Patrimoniul Republicii (Heritage of the Republic) categories.
“The Moldovan products, high quality products, must be known, and people achieve such results through their work, are to be commended,” said Igor Corman, congratulating all participants at the event.
The speaker assured that all of the authorities efforts were aimed at Moldovas development and modernisation. He also said the signing of the Association Agreement with EU and the creation of free trade zone would facilitate Moldovas access to new markets, with fair rules. “I want to assure you that, in all this dialogue with the European Union, we are making every effort to ensure the interests of the producers, so that you be supported, have the chance to be competitive and increase the quality of our goods”, said the speaker.
Igor Corman wished the producers success in their activity and called for solidarity with the vulnerable, needy people. “I know that you also organise charity actions to help the needy. I believe it is important to work together in areas where the states efforts do not suffice, added the parliament speaker.
The Trademark of the Year 2013 contest has been organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the State Intellectual Property Agency annually, starting from 2003. The event was initiated in order to enhance the competitiveness of domestic brands, as well as the marketing teams professionalism. Over 980 Moldovan companies trademarks have been presented in the contest since then.
